We use the information we collect to: • Operate and improve the ReportYou platform • Process and display complaint reports and recommendations • Match vendors with relevant cases and facilitate responses • Send notifications about case status updates and activity • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations • Comply with legal obligations • Generate anonymized analytics to improve platform quality We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Specifically: • Account data is retained until you request deletion • Submitted cases and reports may remain on the platform for the vendor's accountability record after account deletion. We may retain anonymized or non-personal report data after account deletion. • Payment records are retained as required by financial regulations (typically 7 years) • Log data is retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging purposes You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time.

You have two options for limiting or ending access to your account: • Deactivation: You may deactivate your account at any time. Deactivation limits access to the platform without immediately deleting your data. Your reports, cases, and profile are preserved and you may reactivate by contacting support. • Deletion: When you request account deletion, your account is immediately placed in a "PendingDeletion" state. Access to the platform is restricted at that point. Permanent deletion of your personal data is completed within up to 30 days of the request. To request either action, visit your Profile Settings page.
ReportYou is a platform for user-submitted reports and recommendations. Please be aware: • Content submitted by users (including complaints, reviews, and recommendations) is user-generated and may not be independently verified for accuracy. • We reserve the right to review, moderate, or remove content that violates our policies or is flagged as inappropriate. • Submitted content may be visible to other users and the public, subject to our moderation and visibility settings.
We take the safety and integrity of our platform seriously. • Users may report content they believe is inappropriate, false, or harmful using the "Report Abuse" feature available on case pages. • All abuse reports are reviewed, and we will take appropriate action, which may include removing content, issuing warnings, or suspending accounts. • We may also use automated tools to assist in identifying content that violates our policies. To support community accountability features, the platform may collect and display certain interaction data, including: • Votes cast on vendor complaint cases • Engagement with reports (e.g., views, follows, helpful votes) • Community verdicts derived from aggregate voting This data may be displayed publicly in aggregated or anonymized form and is used to assess the credibility and outcome of reported cases.
To operate the platform, we may use third-party services including but not limited to: • Payment processors (e.g., Stripe) for handling case filing fees and vendor subscriptions • Location services (e.g., Google Places) for vendor lookup and address enrichment • Translation services for multilingual content support • Email delivery providers for notifications and system communications These services may receive limited data necessary to perform their function. We require third-party providers to handle data securely and in accordance with applicable law. We do not sell your data to any third party.
